Bourkey, as he is affectionately known, is one of the hardest chargers in the pack. He is known for his aggressive passing and forceful ‘take no prisoners’ race craft. Wayne is a solid podium contender and former Eseries driver, but this year Wayne will form part of a senior drivers group at SSR, and the team will be looking to Wayne for guidance with his vast experience.
Wayne will be looking to improve his qualifying performances this season as he is often having to drive through the field for a good result. His race pace and strategy decisions are unquestionable and you can often look at what Bourkey is doing to find out the optimum strategy.
An outside chance at the championship, Wayne is more than just a dark horse aboard his SSR Commodore. At times is 2023, Wayne looked to have bagged a podium, but in the end it didn’t work out for him. But Bourkey returns fresh and invigorated in 2024 looking to close out some podium results and show why he is still considered one of the toughest competitors on the grid.
